Church of the Holy Trinity, Rychnov nad Kněžnou

The dominant feature of the castle complex in Rychnov nad Kněžnou is the monumental Church of the Holy Trinity, regarded as one of the most significant Baroque ensembles in eastern Bohemia. Originally built in 1594–1602 as the Betengl family tomb, the church underwent a major reconstruction in the 18th century under the leadership of the renowned architect Jan Blažej Santini-Aichel, who gave it its distinctive style.

After an extensive renovation completed in 2023, the church is once again open to the public, offering not only regular services but also guided tours as part of the château circuit. A highlight is the connecting corridor between the château and the church, which was inaccessible for many years and has now been reopened. The church boasts rare organs from the mid-19th century and the Infant Jesus of Prague. Parking is available near the château.
