We bring you a tip for a relaxing afternoon walk in beautiful countryside in the Čenkovice ski resort. You may associate Čenkovice mainly with skiing and winter fun. But believe us, this place is great to visit even in summer, or at the beginning of autumn, when nature starts dressing itself in colorful leaves—and that’s when it’s really something. If you’re looking for peace and easy hiking, this is the right place for you.

Location - Orlické Mountains, Ústí nad Orlicí District, Pardubice Region

In the surrounding area, you can take various trips along mossy paths and enjoy magnificent views of the Orlické Mountains, the Krkonoše Mountains, the Elbe Lowland, the Železné Mountains, the Žďárské vrchy Highlands, the Zábřeh and Hanušovice Highlands, the Jeseníky Mountains, and Králický Sněžník.

FILIP’S SPRING

It is located at the foot of Buková hora at an altitude of 820 m above sea level, and you will also find the so-called Hanes Viewpoint there.

Below the spring, the ski resort has created an artificial pond. The walk from the parking lot to the spring will take you only a moment. In any case, stop here for a while, sit down, and simply listen to the falling water, or refresh your feet.

Filip’s Spring has beneficial effects on our health, in fact. It is fed by water from the Čenkovička stream, which is rich in radon and will help you with swollen legs, joint pain, or skin problems.

Once you’ve relaxed enough, head up along the ski slope or directly up it to the Upper Lake (*walk on the ski slope only during the off-season months).

THE MARTINA VIEWPOINT AND PAVEL’S POND

The meadows are still in bloom even now; at the forest edge you can watch the bustle in anthills with your children or listen to crickets. In the upper part of the ski slope you will find another man-made lake and the natural Martina Viewpoint. There is a beautiful view from here. You can extend your walk all the way to Buková hora and enjoy, for example, a pump track or a children’s playground here in the area.

Or return back past Pavel’s Pond, which signposts will lead you to.  You’ll find it on the left side of the ski slope (when descending) along the forest.  Besides benches suitable for resting, you’ll also find a fire pit here and shade from a mature tree growing a little above the pond. The biggest fun is watching the colorful dragonflies circling above the pond.

Čenkovice is a picturesque mountain resort in a romantic valley below Buková hora. It is the largest ski resort in the Pardubice Region.

The ski area offers 65 km of cross-country trails, 5 downhill slopes (including 2 with night skiing), and a snow park.

We recommend a visit here in every season.
