Poutní místo Dřízna Orlické hory

Pilgrimage site Dřízna

Just outside the village of Přepychy, in a quiet valley, lies the pilgrimage site of Dřízna. The landmark of the place is the Chapel of Our Lady of Lourdes, built in 1889 to a design by chaplain Alois Mádr.

The result is a single-nave chapel, entered by climbing five steps leading to the western portal. Above the entrance door in the façade is a circular medallion depicting the Virgin Mary. Inside the chapel, an altar is dedicated to the Mother of God, a work by the Prague artist Josef Krejčík. Statues of St. Joachim and St. Anne are placed on the altar. The chapel also includes statues of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and St. Joseph.

The chapel was consecrated on 15 September 1889. The site also includes a Stations of the Cross with fourteen stations, ending with a Holy Sepulchre carved into the rock. In the valley there is also the forest spring Křížovka, whose water is considered healing. The place is freely accessible year-round and offers a peaceful setting for spiritual reflection as well as rest in nature. Parking is available in the village of Přepychy, from where a forest path leads to the pilgrimage site.
