Pilgrimage Chapel of the Blessed Virgin Mary
In the hamlet of Dříš near Deštné in the Orlické Mountains, there is the pilgrimage chapel of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The chapel was built in 1809 on the site where an image of the Virgin Mary used to hang on a tall spruce, which was associated with the miraculous healing of a blind boy. A spring rises by the chapel, and some consider its water to have healing properties.
In 1870, a Stations of the Cross was consecrated at the chapel. In 1893, it was supplemented with cast-iron plaques and stone steps. Parking is available at the Panorama chalet, from where a marked hiking trail leads to the chapel. The chapel is freely accessible year-round.
